Goodreads Synopsis: Blackmail lures Ava to the abandoned amusement park on Portgrave Pier. She is one of ten teenagers, all with secrets they intend to protect whatever the cost. When fog and magic swallow the pier, the group finds themselves cut off from the real world. As the teenagers turn on each other, Ava will have to face up to the secret that brought her to the pier and decide how far she’s willing to go to survive. The teenagers have only their secrets to protect and each other to betray.

Review: UM.. I loved this book!! Like no joke this has made it on the list of my favorite reads. The book itself starts off kinda slow but as long as you pull through it gets better real quick. I even thought at first since I was like 3 chapters in and it was slow (no deaths, no secrets were revealed, it was literally just buildup) and I was going to quit it. I didn’t think I could finish a 31 chapter book if it was gonna be like that. But once you hit like chapter 5, the first character dies then these kids basically drop like flies & secrets are being revealed. My only complant is that I wish there was a index of all the kids & their secrets just because it gets very jumbled together once you get to the end & the survivors have to piece things together. There was some plot holes like: how exactly does the spirit/killer work? Like he can posse people but you have to have a reflection to be able to see him but he’s able to control the weather and you can hear him through the wind? How or Why did the kids get the letter like that’s never fully explained other than it’s the demon smily clown guy. Also why did these kid’s parents let them travel to an abandon island at 12am ALONE & not 1 of the parents reported them missing ESPECIALLY since the island had a huge disaster on it?? Like the police never come searching for them, nothing. But those are things you definately overlook and still enjoy the book. My favorite character’s were Ava, Nate & Esme. [SPOILER] I’m actually really upset only Ava makes it out when I thought at least her friend Jolie and/or Esme would make it out and they’d get to go home & maybe we’d get hint of a second book. But the end kinda soildifies the end of the book.
